Hey Toyota! Time heals all wounds.

It seems that just a few months ago, America had pronounced Toyota "D-E-A-D."  Their cars were driving themselves, victims were testifying on Capital Hill, and bankrupt shysters were too afraid to drive their cars in San Diego.

Toyota is a solid company.  Sure they made some bad decisions that were driven by a combination of greed and pressure to stay on top.  I'm sure they are wishing for a re-do.  Lucky for Toyota, Americans have short memories.  We love to tear people down and build them back up.  Just look at Robert Downey Jr.  This was a hopeless drug addict who was on his last leg.  He even went to prison, but somehow we forgave him and this past weekend, his movie Iron Man 2 had one of the biggest opening days of any movie.

The Big T is going to be just fine.  Incentives and some warm & fuzzy commercials have brought consumers back to their dealerships.  Toyota did not become a bad car company overnight.  They took some risks and they didn't pay off.

Hopefully the lesson has been learned and other manufacturers will look back at this time and take notice that it takes years to get to the top, but only minutes to fall down.

For any of you considering a Toyota, my opinion hasn't changed.  This is the same car it has always been.  It's a reliable, boring, efficient appliance.  And unfortunately, their leadership has forced other car companies to follow suit and now we have a market full of boring, predictable appliances and at some point all of you will realize that it doesn't really matter what you drive, but how you drive it and how it makes you feel.
